1. How to request deletion
Users can now request deletion directly inside the app through Settings > Account > Delete account. The in-app flow requires the signed-in user to type DELETE before the backend deletes the account and associated data.
- Send an email to privacy@paopaohezi.com from the email address connected to your PaoPao account where possible.
- Use the subject line: PaoPao account deletion request.
- Include your registered email address, username or nickname, and a short statement that you want your account and associated data deleted.
- Do not include your password, verification code, private keys, or sensitive diary content in the email.
- We may reply with a verification step before processing the deletion request.
2. What data will be deleted or anonymized
After account ownership is verified, we will delete or anonymize data associated with the account, including where applicable:
- Account profile data such as username, email, phone number, nickname, avatar, bio, settings, invite and membership fields.
- Authentication sessions, refresh state, and device session records.
- Private diary entries, documents, folders, knowledge bases, generated summaries, and knowledge chunks.
- AI chat sessions, chat messages, prompts, responses, and related metadata.
- Uploaded media metadata and stored files that belong to the account.
- Follows, likes, favorites, comments, notifications, wiki profile data, and public sharing records where tied to the account.
- Identifiable analytics or activity records where deletion is technically available and legally required.
3. Data that may be retained for a limited time
We may retain limited information when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, financial records, or abuse investigations. Aggregated or de-identified metrics that no longer identify a user may also be retained for service reliability and product analytics.
4. Processing timeline
We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days after account ownership is verified. If a request is complex, legally restricted, or requires more time, we will explain the delay by email.
5. Reversal and account access
Deletion is intended to be permanent. Once the deletion process is completed, the account, private journals, knowledge base content, AI chat history, media, and community data may not be recoverable.

App 内路径为 设置 > 账号管理 > 删除账号， 登录后输入 DELETE 即可确认删除账号及相关数据。也可以使用账号绑定邮箱发送邮件至 privacy@paopaohezi.com， 邮件标题写明 PaoPao account deletion request，并提供注册邮箱、 用户名或昵称，以及“请求删除账号和相关数据”的说明。请不要在邮件中发送密码、验证码、 私钥或高度敏感的日记内容。
我们会先验证账号归属。验证通过后，目标是在 30 天内删除或匿名化账号资料、私有日记、 知识库、AI 聊天记录、上传媒体、互动记录、通知和可识别活动记录。因安全、合规、 争议处理或滥用调查需要保留的少量数据，可能会按必要期限继续保留。
7. Current in-app deletion status
The app includes an automated signed-in account deletion flow under Settings > Account > Delete account. The backend endpoint DELETE /api/users/me removes the account, sessions, documents, knowledge chunks, media records and R2 objects, chat data, social interactions, notifications, activity records, and related account-owned data where deletion is technically available.
